About Leather Motel:

The band wrote nearly all of the album prior to March 2020. With the pandemic’s arrival, and subsequent lockdown, they scrapped their original plans to begin studio recordings in April 2020.

The group began experimenting with an at-home recording process in mid 2020, sharing track files back and forth. After a couple of initial mixes, the decision was made to commit to making a full length album all on their own.

So they did.

Leather Motel drives with a primitive feel due, in part, to the individual, and somewhat unorthodox way the music was recorded. The songs incorporate more individual tracks than any other Neon Fauna release to date, creating layers of texture the band hadn’t employed previously. The recording process served as “bridge” in uncertain times.

To the band, the music of the Leather Motel lives as a testament to art and it’s healing power, even in the darkest times.
